| Yesterday was awesome ... I heard a REALLY good sermon ... which I specifically needed to hear (don't know why all those other people bothered to show up ... ) After lunch, we drove up to Pittsburgh to see Zel's art show. It was really a treat. He first took us to the room where the show had been - there were a few things left there, and then explained what exactly the department was doing. Then he took us up to the main floor, where they had moved his work to a great display area. Terrific stuff ... I have been a fan of Zel's work since I first saw it, and this show made me a bigger fan! I've always been fascinated with his detail work, and it was really a treat to see his large pieces, and have him explain procedure, color, etc. Thanks, Zel! After that, Zel took us to the top of the Cathedral of Learning at Pitt to see the views of Pittsburgh & beyond ... really wonderful! I had always wanted to go there to see their Nationality Rooms, especially when we were homeschooling. I never got around to it, and didn't see them yesterday, either, but it never occurred to me that it would be such a great place to look at the surroundings. Then topping it off, last night, was yet another awesome Phillies game .... wow! | | |
| So, life has pretty much settled down after all the craziness of the past two months. I think I'm actually headed towards some kind of routine, which, surprisingly, I really want right now. Maybe. I'm actually starting to get to things I've been wanting to get to for a loonnnnggg time. The hard part is that there are so many of them, and since I've got an ADD personality anyway, I have trouble deciding what to do when, etc. I keep thinking I should make a schedule, but then some of the stuff I'd rather do when I'm in the mood for it, and ... oh never mind .. I'm rambling now. I've been having fun cooking some different things - nothing fancy, just stuff that when there were 3 of us here I wouldn't have made since one of us wouldn't have liked it (sorry, Leah ... ) Last night I made stuffed peppers ... the night before, chili & rice .... Choir is going great - I really like the music we're doing for our Christmas concert. And everyone should come and hear us sometime .. we're that good! I've been thinking about getting involved in something else in the community ... maybe a book club at the library or something .. not sure yet .. we'll see. Stay tuned ... | | |
| I had seen a flyer at the library for someone who needed a math tutor. The flyer said the tutor needed to know Algebra & Trigonometry. So, I called & left a message. They just called back, and the dad was on first, then the daughter (the student) got on & she said "I need someone to help me with Trigonometry - are you familiar with Saxon's Advanced Math ?" Well, not only am I familiar with it, I used that book for Leah for 11th grade!!! And I still have it! The girl is a junior at Wash High, and her dad said he might have someone else who needs tutoring in Algebra. He wants his daughter to come twice a week. And since it's the beginning of the year, they don't mind waiting till after we get back from vacation. Is that cool or what? | | |

| yeah, so I went to Fashion Bug (i know, I just lost all the MEN who read this ....) and I got $46.98 worth of stuff for $4.49! I had a coupon for $10 off (can't use it on clearance) and I got a shirt that was on sale for $10.49 (normally 16.99) so I got it for 49 cents. 2 differences from this pic - 1) I got it in black and 2) I have a head. and these shoes (normally $29.99) were $4.00! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
